ANIME REVIEW: HELLSING

Hellsing is a 13-episode anime which is about a government agency whose sole purpose is to eliminate the existence of non-humans, specifically vampires. Their main "weapon" is a very powerful vampire named Alucard, who fights against low-class vampires using a special kind of gun. The story becomes more interesting as more vampires are seemingly produced, and there's some kind of an evil mastermind with a hidden agenda that threatens the Hellsing Institution and the entire humanity.

*giggles* I don't know if that synopsis sounded quite right. But for my first anime review, I'm featuring Hellsing. Well, let's just say that it's not really the kind of anime I'm into. It's dark and disgusting, with lots of blood and gore, and a lot of these supernatural stuffs that's not good spiritually. I can just imagine my cousin screaming "THAT'S DEMONIC!!!!" if she actually sees me watching it. *sweatdrops profusely at the thought* The story is really not that appealing, with so many questions left unanswered. Some scenes are really disgusting and freaky, like Alucard all deformed and becoming some sort of bakemono, or Celes Victoria carrying Alucard's head (yes, his head!) in her arms. And there are so many blood and gore!!! And this is the first anime I've seen with censored dialogue, although the subtitles were not at all censored. Postive things about it: well, the artwork is OK, the characters are interesting, and fight scenes are quite cool! But if you're looking for anime with depth and inspiring themes, this is definitely NOT it. It's not really my type of anime but hey, I'm actually just watching it for the blood and gore (yes, sometimes I can be so "bad".... )*grins*
