Tra~la~la~ I am in love. ^_______^
Yep, you heard me right. I should've written about this weeks ago, but just didn't have the time, but YES! I AM IN LOVE! ^____^ And I am in love with a very tall, well-built, good looking guy who's so super sweet, so super funny and so super skillful. And he's not just any guy, he's a monk! I know... It's probabaly not just meant to be, but I really can't help how I feel for him. I am just so in love with....
Arisugawa Sorata.
(giggles) But it's true!! ^___^ I was able to watch X-TV recently. I know, I'm probably the most outdated otaku. ^^;; But it was only this time that I was able to borrow a copy - a very bad copy, I must say - of X-TV. Actually, I never really wanted to watch it before, since I never really liked these end-of-the-world plots, but I was curious with its immense popularity. And with Gervie ranting on about how great the story was, I just couldn't resist to not watch it. So despite the fact that we've been having our major exams during the past four weeks, I just had to find time to watch it. And I did. And I love it!!
[WARNING: some spoilers ahead... but it doesn't matter, since I'm probably the only one who hasn't watched this yet.. ^^;;]
From the great plot to the unexpected twists, to the superb artwork and the amazing characterization, this anime, as Yukichan would describe it, is a classic! The bishounens.. *ahem* .. I mean, THIS anime totally took my breath away. ^__^ I really love the general concept and the ironic twists. I love the scene where Kamui chose to protect Fuma and Kotori, only to realize his decision only led to their destined um, "destruction". I love the fact that Satsuki died (did she?) because she finally got in touch with her emotions. And I love the fact that Kamui was able to live on by dying. I just love these twists! ^___^
I love all the characaters!! Fuma, Subaru, Aoki, Yuto.. err, Gomen, I still can't memorize their names (since memorizing my OB and GYNE and SURGERY and etc takes priority at this time ^^;;), but I did memorize the names of the bishounens... LOL But I really love ALL the characters! I was so surprised at Subaru!!! When I saw him 3 or 4 years ago in Tokyo Babylon, he didn't look anything like THAT! BUT! Look at him now!!! (swoons) I wonder what happened between him and Seishiro in between Tokyo Babylon and X... Maybe I should ask people who know CLAMP best (er.. Suoh-san? LOL). And corny as it may sound, but I actually cried in most of the episodes, especially in the latter half, when the good guys were dying, when the bad guys were dying, heck, even when Inuki was dying! I think I cried even more when I watched X compared to when I watched Stairway To Heaven.. LOL
But, what I really love the most in this anime is ARISUGAWA SORATA. Damn, I love that monk so much. I don't exactly like Arashi, but I love the fact that Sorata calls her "nee-chan" (so sweet!!) and that he chose to love her, and to die for her. I already knew in episode 6(?) that Sorata was going to die, but in that episode when he receives all these injuries because he summoned out this powerful thingy to save Arashi from Fuma, I was really on the edge of my seat, crying and repeating over and over in my mind that he couldn't possibly die. Not yet. Not ever. And when he could no longer move his right arm, I was so heartbroken, but he was still able to smile and act all cheerful. When he makes that sweet speech about how he knows that Arashi feels nothing for him, but Arashi tells him otherwise, and then they hug.. and then they kiss.. and then they... (Ehehehe, I still would like to think of them as a WHOLESOME couple. They're high school kids after all ^o^). But I was so filled with joy and happiness for them. Then... Arashi leaves him, and I was equally confused, and when they meet each other again, and Arashi was so cold to him, I felt so sad! But there was also the realization there that Arashi did it, ironically, to protect him, because she loves him. Then their face-to-face encounter in episode 23! When they were fighting each other - I can't believe Sorata actually threw that ball of lightning(?) to her! - but I just knew that they could never bear to hurt each other. And when Fuma thrusts his sword and Sorata finally takes it FOR nee-chan, and does HIS GREAT SACRIFICE for her, I just felt all my world crumble! Yet Sorata was still smiling and telling nee-chan to live on for him, telling Kamui to forgive her, telling nee-chan she was beautiful.. I was already crying like crazy, feeling all sick in my heart, feeling like a part of me has died (and yes, that's true, since Sorata has already become a part of me...). 'KUSO, HE REALLY DIED!!! And I didn't care anymore about the last episode! I didn't care anymore if Kamui saves the world or Fuma destroys the whole thing, because #1, what is there to live for when Sorata is already dead!? and #2, the damn CD was so poor quality that all the scenes kept skipping and I couldn't understand what they were doing! But I did catch that part when Kamui realizes his destiny, and tells Fuma that he will continue to live on in his heart, then he builds his own kekkai while dying (I cried in that part too)...
X-TV is really a masterpiece. I really should get my own copy SOON and I should re-watch the whole thing again. Hopefully by next month, during my break. But damn, Sorata really died. HOW COULD HE DIE!?! (cries a pailful)
Anyway, because of this, I have rekindled all the otaku flames within me, and I am filled with remorse that I haven't been "feeding" myself with any anime at all. I have been caught up with collecting all these terebi doramas and korean movies that I have neglected my anime! I feel so bad about it. Actually, I shouldn't be completely blamed for it, because this piffle princess is a struggling med student with limited free time in her hands, and in addition, this piffle princess is poor and has no immediate internet access to update herself. So I hope people would understand why this anime otaku has been in hibernation for quite some time. And! I also learned one important thing from Yukichan - and that is, it's actually IMPORTANT to know your anime seiyuus! I feel bad that I didn't know Seki Tomokazu did Kyou in Furuba, Tokairin in YUA, Touya in CCS, Kamui in X/1999... etc... He's even in RK Tsuiokuhen as Katsura! I didn't know that!
(INSERT: By the way, I was able to buy the RK Tsuiokuhen DVD, and it had a really really nice packaging... I keep looking at it proudly whenever I see it in my room! ^___^).
And she told me about so many other seiyuus... the guy who did Subaru actually did Hideki in Chobitsu!! So amazing. I am just awed by all these info. Anyway, upcoming animes I will be watching hopefully by next week are PEACEMAKER KUROGANE and GUNGRAVE. And I plan on re-watching some of my other animes too, especially Furuba since I miss it so much (actually, I miss the Sohma boys, especially that sukebe~ sukebe~ Shi-chan! ^o^). And I'm really trying to save money now, because I want to buy FULL MOON WO SAGASHITE. It's about time now that I get to watch that anime. I also want to buy GRAVITATION. And since Hya bought the entire set of CARDCAPTOR SAKURA, I wanna burn a copy for myself too! Ahhh... (pulls hair) I'm so confuuuuuusssedd!!! So many CDs, so little money... (extremely sad). But Full Moon Wo Sagashite is really my first priority. I'm giving it to myself as an advance tanjoubi puresento. hehehe~ Hopefully. (crosses fingers)
By the way, if anyone is willing to trade anime music (OSTs, MP3s, etc) with me, please.. please.. do so! I don't have much of a collection - just some JPOP and korean OSTs and lots of korean movies - but I really want to listen to anime music now, especially the OP Song for X-TV. I have been abusing my WeiB Kreuz OST lately. It's not because I like the CD (I couldn't even relate to it since I haven't watched WeiB Kreuz 0___o), but it sounds so anime-ish so I just have to make do with it. I really need to fan the flames of anime madness in my life. I need to. I must. Also, upcoming reviews for more Korean and J-doramas will probably be put up soon. I'm also changing my banner because I have already "remembered to forget", and I feel that this blog needs some change already. Anyhoo, I want to do so many things in my life, and in this blog, so please be patient with me. This poor and computer-illiterate piffle princess who's disguising herself as a struggling med student just needs some time to fix some things in her life. And now that I think about it, maybe it's also high time too that I get a copy of ANGELIC LAYER, to pay tribute to where I got my online name and the inspiration for my official blog title.
Lastly, I just want to narrate something that happened last night. We were, as usual, spending the night studying in school. I was in the room with my friends, and I was sitting near the wall, when suddenly Hya told me "Don't look up..". Suddenly, Hya and Franc were in semi-panic mode as something flew across the room. I covered my head with my folder, but when I saw that it was a BIG, YUCKY COCKROACH FLYING STRAIGHT TOWARDS ME, I totally just freaked out, jumped from my seat, and ran like crazy out of the room. And when I reached the hallway, I saw ANOTHER COCKROACH running across the floor, and so I was in TOTAL PANIC MODE.. I REALLY HATE COCKROACHES!!! Argh! Then suddenly, our great president FAISAL came running to the rescue! Or at least, that's what I thought at first when he rushed into the room where Hya and Franc were still battling the flying roach. But actually, he just wanted to get his PELLET GUN, because he saw this as a great chance to master his shooting skills. 0____o And as he reached for his gun, in a very dramatic slow-motion mode, Franc yelled, "FAI, THERE ARE NO PELLETS IN YOUR GUN..!!" If I wasn't so freaked out then, I probably would've laughed at them, cos it was just like a scene from an action movie! LOL Anyway, Fai did manage to kill the roach, but I was so freaked out that I actually cried in front of my classmates. Dammit. So embarrassing de-su. But then I was really so damn scared. x___X
