WORKAHOLiC, MUCH???!!

I just went through a really crazy cycle of work! @____@

August 31, I was at Hospital A, where I experienced that nerve-wracking earthquake, watching the oxygen tanks and IV stands and door frames swaying for more than 2 minutes. We rushed out of the Emergency Room and the only thought in my mind was how to eveacuate the patients from the building since it was a bit flooded outside. Praise God we didn't reach that kind of situation, though I heard a woman from our city actually died because her house collapsed. After endorsement on September 1, I rushed to Hospital B, and though it was quite an uneventful duty, but I still had several admissions and consultations. Then after work the next day (which was September 2), I snuck off to attend church service, so I was late (with permission) when I went back again to Hospital A. It was a disaster when I arrived as there were so many patients still waiting to be attended to and so I helped the post-duty resident clear the ER. Then she left and I was all alone and thought I would have a nice and relaxed Sunday duty, but I thought wrong!!! The patients then came rushing in one after the other! We even had to manage a bloody, toxic patient and that took up much of our time and energy. I'd rather not write about the gory details. Suffice it to say that it was already past 9pm when I got to drag my bag up to my room. I was already dizzy by then and so my dinner was tasteless. More patients arrived but by that time, I was too tired to even care anymore. I just wanted this crazy schedule to end.

But wait, there's more! So this morning (September 3), I still had some more patients until 11am when I finally got to endorse all of them to the incoming resident physician. After packing up my stuffs and having a very late lunch at Jollibee (which I thought was nearby, but I ended up walking quite a long way under the heat of the afternoon sun!), I then proceeded to another job in this certain company clinic. I really like it here because there's hardly any work to be done, the pay is good, it only lasts for three hours, and they serve yummy coffee. And I got a surprise today -- we have a laptop on our table and we have internet connection! Social network sites are blocked though, but I can still access my blog so I decided to write something to celebrate my memorable experience.

Since I bask in the internet all day while at home, I actually treasure and use my free time at work (as if there's such a thing!) to do non-internet related stuffs like reading, drawing, watching videos, etc. So I'm kinda torn right now if I should be happy over this free internet access or if I should be sad that I'm using the internet again even at work. I originally planned to finish this novel I'm reading here in the clinic today but I don't think I can do that now since we'll be off in about an hour. But at least I am blogging and doing something productive and not playing Bejeweled Blitz. Games are fun and all but I vowed to start September right by using my time more wisely. I have long lists of things-to-do and I really want them accomplished soon. And this internet at work, GAAAAH!, it took my mind off more important things again! >.<

But I'm just so glad my work scheduled for these days is almost done. Praise God that I survived (and my patients all survived too! *w*). Thank God for work, though a bit too stressful, sustains our daily needs at home. I just have so many things to be grateful for, and with my last drop of energy, I'm going to my D-group meeting later at church so I can share my blessings. Here's hoping I won't be too dead by then.

(°◇°;) Misaki, you can't die yet! What about my manga?! (which I am still too lazy to take WIP pictures off? ヾ(´▽`;)ゝ)

I'm confused... why are you working in 2 different hospitals and a clinic to boot? ヾ(-_-;)

i'm alive! yehey! :)))

i work as a resident physician. it means if a patient goes to the hospital, i am the first doctor to see, manage and admit them in the ER, then i refer them to their attending physician, who will probably see them later or the next day when they are already in their rooms. since a single duty lasts for 24hrs, then when i'm off, say by 8 or 9 am, then i can time in again in another hospital and do the same work again. we can do endless cycles of 24hrs depending on how diligent we are (or how much money we need, hahaha) but of course the longer we work, the more tired we are and the more we are prone to errors so it's not advisable. i just agreed to it because there's no one else who's available to work.

and on free days (which are the days we are either post-24hrs duty, or we are off from any hospital works), we can get side jobs in small clinics, company clinic.

since i resigned from my work last february, i no longer work in a single hospital. i'm like a freelance doctor. you can assign me anywhere. XD

...you are crazy girl! ヽ(-`д´-)ノ And I saw the news about the woman who died in her house. Good thing Suoh already told me you were ok, because as soon as they said "Cagayan de Oro", I pretty much freaked out.

I need to buy load tomorrow so I can just text you when stuff like this happens. ━Σ(゚Д゚|||)━ Kuripot artist is kuripot!
