OTAKU DOCTOR FTW.

My sister, her boyfriend and my boyfriend came here for a 4-day visit, which I'll write about next time. They left early yesterday morning, draining me of all my monies and all my energy. I got to sleep at 330am already cos I had to finish burning some videos and prepared some stuffs for them to take back to Manila. Then they woke me up around 430am so that I could bid them goodbye. I snoozed a bit but by 6am, I was forced to get up cos I had to prepare for my 24-hour duty already!

So needless to say, I was all groggy at work yesterday. I'm always tired, but it's been a while since I've been THIS tired. Like, on several occasions, I'd drowsed off while talking to a patient. And during the wee hours of this morning, it took the nurse several trips to my room to wake me up to see an ER patient. I swear, yesterday's work was all a blur to me. Thank God though that there were just a few patients and no emergency cases. And I'm just so grateful and relieved that I didn't make any mistakes!

I unintentionally made funny orders in the chart though (which of course I had to erase)...

"Please give Hunter x Hunter."

THERMAE ROMAE

I must admit that when I saw this image as part of the Winter 2012 line-up, I didn't bother to give it a second look.

But today, when I saw this trailer, I changed my mind!

So I immediately looked it up, and learned that Thermae Romae is an award winning manga by Yamazaki Mari that has spawned a three-episode anime and this upcoming movie to be released on April 28, 2012. The casting for the live action adaptation includes veteran actor Abe Hiroshi and pop celebrity Ueto Aya. It tells the story of a Roman architect named Lucius Modestus who hasn't been successful with his designs. One day, he visits a public bath, and somehow got trapped in an underwater hole and then transported to a bath house in 20th century Japan. He then uses these modern ideas to build his own bathing facility.

A hilarious story about bath houses and time travel -- why am I not at all surprised that this epic piece is from Japan!? \(^o^)/ Abe Hiroshi's multiple facial expressions in that trailer are absolutely priceless! I literally laughed out loud! Once my no-new-download month is over, I will definitely put this on top of my queue list.

INJURED!

What a way to start the new year -- I almost lost my finger today! @___@

And it's NOT because of fireworks (cos I don't touch that~) nor food preparation (cos I don't do that~).

Let me tell you the gory-turned-funny story...

It was almost 6am but still dusky outside. Since my mom and my sister were sleeping with me in my cramped room, I was forced to convert my small couch into my bed, and the electric fan was positioned just above my head. The fan's blades are (fortunately) made of plastic, but it's one of those really strong fans commonly referred to as industrial fans. Now I tend to move a lot in my sleep and I think I must have unconsciously stretched my arms or something, and accidentally stuck my finger into the fan! I immediately jolted awake cos of the excruciating pain, and I realized that blood was already dripping from my left ring finger. I really thought it was a goner. I turned on my flashlight and grabbed some tissues (funny that I didn't really think of turning on the lights). I sat on my couch, teary-eyed, clutching my bleeding finger while thanking God for the usefulness of elbows (yes, I was still that groggy!). Then I wrapped tissue around it and held it together with masking tape, before waking up my mom and sister to tell them what happened. My sister was alarmed, but do you know how my equally-groggy mom responded!?

She said: "So, are you going to show it in Facebook!?"

And the three of us just burst out laughing.

So much for being injured. It was SRSLY so painful, but everyone just treated it as a joke. ~__~

EARLY MORNING WEIRDNESS

I had another weird dream today which involves the end of the world, the rise of communism in our country, fabricating chinese birth certificates to prevent capture by government, riding motorelas to travel from one mountain to another, and Vhong Navarro and Pokwang in a romantic movie where they dress up as green elves.

O__o;;

My mom woke me up (awww... just when the dream was getting cheesier XD) because Dr Castro called up and he needed a prescription pad. Since my mom was running late, she told me to hurry up. I know I still have a lot of those random prescription pads around but I forgot where I placed them. So after going around the rooms trying to rummage through my mess, I ended up with only a small pad, which I reluctantly gave my mom. As she hurried off to work, I found the large prescription pads, so I rushed after her -- wearing my flowery must-not-be-seen-in-public house clothes, with hair unkempt, and eyes still groggy from sleep. I RAN around the barangay hall (we live behind it) in all my "glory" hoping to catch up with my mom, but when I reached the corner, I was just in time to see her get in a taxi.

All that running for nothing. Feh. >___<
