TIRED AND SLEEPY

I am soooooo tired and sleepy. I still have to work tonight. But it's too hot in my room and I can't sleep. Boo.

Yesterday, I was working in a company clinic in the morning, and my eyes were literally drooping. Tried to wake myself up by playing Gods Eater Burst on PSP.

Then in the afternoon, I worked in a mall clinic. I was still sleepy and so I took out my PSP again. Finally finished the main story for Gods Eater Burst then I ran out of batt. To kill time, I started doodling. Was looking for a reference when I saw this poster in front of me... (。´∀`。)

Then in the evening I went to another company to work. There was so much traffic and I had a hard time getting on a jeepney. I was fifteen minutes late, all dusty, and was still sleepy. The first thing I did was hit the bed, but the patients were heartless and kept waking me up especially in the wee hours...

GAAAAHHHH!!! I'm so sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppyyyyyy.....  And it's so hot........ ヾ(×× ) ツ

ANTI SOCIAL LIFE

Lately I have been quite depressed and just don't feel like doing anything. I've been watching animes frequently just to keep my mind busy, but sometimes I just don't feel ... alive. Maybe I'm tired from consecutive days of working, and most possibly drained by different kinds of trials going on in my life right now. My boyfriend said that I'm probably all burned out, and perhaps I need to go out with people.

And so, despite being post 24-hours duty (and pre 24-hours duty, as I'm working again tomorrow), I decided to get out of the house for a change. Today's a local holiday, since it's our city's Charter Day, so some of my friends don't have work. So I called up Gervie (a bank employee) and Don (a university professor) and we decided to hang out in the afternoon to have a drawing session. I was encouraging both of them to participate in the local comic convention come October, since they are both gifted artists and it's quite a shame for their talents to go to waste. Gervie started sketching panels while Don did some anatomy studies. I tried to make character designs for my story, but ended up making a fanart...

" I am Reisys V. Felicity Sumeragi. KEKEKE~ "

It's another sketch done with a ballpoint pen. Because of my current melancholic state, I'm also in some kind of an artist slump. (Although technically I don't really consider myself worthy to be called an artist. Not yet, anyway.) I just finished the anime Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai last night and surprisingly found it quite enjoyable. It's very funny and dealt with a group of anti-social characters whom I can somewhat relate to. My most favorite character is Hasegawa Kobato, a cosplaying middle school kid who is the sister of the main protagonist. I thought I'd make a fanart of her, and although I kinda messed up on this, but it was a fun experience drawing her. And talking with Gervie and Don regarding drawings, animes, our common interests and random stuffs somewhat uplifted my mood.

Then around 5pm, I left the boys and went to an outing with my discipleship group from church. I didn't really want to go swimming with them, and initially tried to squirm my way out by making some excuses to our leader. But I kinda felt bad about it, knowing that they were totally looking forward to the event, and so I changed my mind and went. It was perhaps our group's first time to actually go to someplace really different, and when we got there, I was amazed by the beautiful view...

It was a private hilltop compound overlooking the city, and at one side is an infinity pool! I didn't know we have such a lovely place within our city! We chitchatted, had a sumptuous dinner, and then our leader shared to us a message by Pastor Craig Groeschel about praying boldly to God, like what the first Christians did. "What you pray for reflects what you believe about God." I found it to be a very powerful and encouraging message, and would like to share the video link [HERE], that it may bless you as much as it has spoken to all members of my d-group.

After that, we took a lot of pictures and some of the girls went for a night swim. As I am not particularly fond of getting myself wet, so I didn't join them in the pool. I still got wet though, cos it was so dark and I accidentally stepped into the catch basin for the water. Got my Chucks soaked, boo.

I had fun today. And though my circumstances in life have not changed one bit and my heart still feels heavy, but I have my God and He gave me friends.

I know I will be okay. (^u^)

SARDINES AND STICKERS

I don't usually eat in the mornings, but since we have free meals at my current workplace, I felt obliged to have my breakfast after my duty. Later on, the other doctors told me that I can actually convert said meal to something else, like a bottle of softdrinks or bags of junk foods as long as it's worth Php30. Unfortunately, I can't change it to cash. After thinking long and hard, I decided to convert my breakfast to canned goods, for the following reasons: (1) We can eat them at home, (2) We can feed them to our dog, and (3) I can skip breakfast and skip the calories. After further analysis, I decided to get sardines because I get to take home 2 cans of these instead of 1 can of corned beef. And so bringing home 2 cans of sardines after work has been the usual practice for me lately, but when I looked up the kitchen cupboard today...
ZOMBBQ!! Sardines, much?!?

Earlier I was browsing through some food blogs and got inspired to make myself a sandwich for lunch. I took some bread, spread some cheesy goodness, and tossed in some spicy sardines. I don't know if you can actually add cheese to sardines, but I thought it tasted heavenly~
Cheesy Sardines Sandwich + Hot Coffee = LUNCH!

Other weird foodstuffs I actually "invented" and love to eat are Peanut-Butter-and-Cheese Sandwich and Plain-Bread-Dipped-in-Water. Yeeeaaahh, the latter sounds kinda gross(?), I guess, cos it tastes bland and the bread ends up all soggy. But I have been eating that as snack since I was a kid. (ー。ー゛)

I actually finished them last week, and they have already been distributed! My friend really likes them, and she just spent less than Php300 on these. I'm just so grateful for my boyfriend's help and photoshop powers, and also just really thankful that I got to find the perfect pink board paper and pink envelopes. I had 35 of these printed out at nearby internet cafe, and since there was still a huge space in the paper I used for the name stickers, so I thought, why not throw in some random google images to print? And so I ended up with these...
<3 <3 <3

Today is actually the seventh birthday of our uber-hyperactive "pai-pai" dog,
and I would just like to end this post with her picture~

DON'T TOUCH MY BIRDIE!

Blurred out the details for the event
cos readers of this blog might gate-crash
~ >__<;;;

My friend is organizing a surprise party for her parents to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary. Because of the tight budget, I found myself appointed (yes, I didn't even volunteer! ~___~) to make the invitations. At first, I was like "OK, I'll just copy-paste something from the net~" but sadly, it didn't turn out to be that easy. I had to read up on wedding invitations, deal with pdf files, download a bunch of photo-editing programs which I don't know how to use, and had to forcefully drag my boyfriend into the situation so he can lend me his Photoshop skills. The template was downloaded from this site but per request of my friend, one of the birds was changed to blue. The final editing were done by me using MS Paint and MS Word, cos those are the only programs I am comfortable with. (yah, I know. So pathetic, really~ TAT)

This is still subject for approval later today, but I think it looks kinda meh and might not look very striking against a pink background. I should have used stronger colors for the fonts. I know I could have done better. Maybe if I know Photoshop maybe I can improve this, but it's kinda late for that now.

In other news, I'm back to feeling all melancholic again. I actually spent the entire day sleeping, because I was feeling all downcast to the point that I didn't know what else to do. And the bad thing is that I don't feel any better, and I'm still sleepy.

BEHIND MY PC

Tadaima! I'm back home!

I just arrived here in CDO yesterday, and while I'm still not in the mood to be writing about my almost two-month long mis-adventures in Manila, I am in the mood though to be telling you what I've been doing the entire afternoon today. And all of it involves sitting behind my PC. *hugglez PC* Awww... I miss my PC...

Well, I didn't even bother to check my mail or Friendster or anything, but I made sure that we have a decent anti-virus program. You see when I left home two months ago, I was so frustrated with the PC that I left it unprotected (aka I uninstalled all anti-virus programs because none of them could seem to detect viruses anyway. *sigh*). My mom always brings home a worm or two from her office, so I'm sure the PC is now infested with these. I installed AVG(again) but I don't know if it did a good job in cleaning out the bugs. Come November or December, when my sister comes back home, I'll probably ask her to reformat the PC again.

Next, I thought I should update my torrent downloads, and surprise! surprise! I now have 48 files in queue. And that's just backlog downloads and does not include this season's new animes. Wow, I just checked out the Fall 2008 animes and almost everything looks yummy!

*whistles* That's A LOT of animes to watch this season. I think I'm going crazy.

Anyway, I also updated my deviantart journal today, but I'll be uploading some more artworks tomorrow. Yes, I've finally created a DA account after years of prodding from dsucker, gervie and finally suoh12. The addy is:
http://pandaandpotato.deviantart.com
It will feature most of my decent drawings from year 2000-present. Around mid-2008, I was really in a hype to draw, but because of the two-month hiatus, I'm now back to ground zero again with my drawing skills. Let's just hope I don't lose the magic touch. I really want to produce decent to good artworks from now on.

Er, NO. This Touhou work of art unfortunately is NOT my drawing.
(But how I wish I can draw this way! w00t! w00t!)

So in line with that, I've been downloading more and more artbooks and images online for reference. And I happen to come across a site that offers around 300+ high quality Touhou scans. *excited* So I've been hitting right-click and save nonstop, I feel like I might get carpal tunnel syndrome if I don't stop soon. But I just can't help it, they are just too adorable! Nevermind that I don't know any of their names at all.

I just saw a cockroach fly, so I'm ending this post. So, bye.

ALL IN A DAY'S WORK

It was raining the whole day this morning. In fact, it's been raining since yesterday afternoon.

And so since it was raining, I didn't expect to have any patients in the clinic. And I suddenly decided to draw, using (as usual) the back of the prescription pad.

Here are some stuffs I've accomplished:

Ahh... wish I could've done better. She just doesn't look quite right. XD

But what can I do... my medium for my artistic expression is only THIS!

Anyway, after that, I decided to try my hand at an original character.
Aiming for elegant vampire-like character... and getting...

Know why it's crumpled? Because it is going straight to the trash bin. XD

Third attempt... experimenting with hair... and neko mimi...

Ugh.
It can be improved though.

After that, I had only one patient for this day. I was so bored I chatted with that patient for maybe an hour. I explained to her the physiology of menstruation, of pregnancy, of twin and multiple births, of the formation of uterine myomas, and about future plans of getting married. RofLOL. She, in turn, described to me her family line, her experiences with her children, her faith in God and yes, her cough (which was the main reason she was there). Then she left, and I slept for an hour before calling it a day.

And you think being a doctor is a lot of hard work?! *winks*

Well, it's just one of THOSE days. ^_________^

THE BOY (and girl) WHO LIVED

I finally got hold of the book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (YEY!). I’ve been “begging” some of my friends to let me borrow, but I just haven’t been lucky enough to procure a copy. Good thing Hya's copy was finally returned to her, and so she shipped her book from Butuan to here (along with the Chronicles of Narnia, YEY!) so I have some more reading materials to ease my boredom in the clinic! ^_______^

I was so excited I immediately started reading HP, like a hungry little kid gobbling her sweets. It took me a total of around 15 hours to finish it, and when I reached the last page, I instantly felt a sense of regret and sadness wash over me. I realized that it’s finally over. The battle between He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named versus The-Boy-Who-Lived has finally come to an end. We will not be visiting Hogwarts ever again. We will not be hearing Ron and Hermione's constant bickering any longer. We will not be meeting all these amazing characters and going to all these wonderful places anymore. We will not be learning new stuffs about courage, loyalty, trust and friendship from Harry and friends in the future. It has finally come to an end. The Harry Potter phenomenon has reached its final conclusion.

I’m happy with the book, but at the same time, I feel a wave of sadness within me. I won’t elaborate anymore about it. I’m sure a lot of sites out there offer more detailed reviews and insights regarding the book, and I don’t want to spoil those who haven’t read it yet. But I would just like to point out one thing that pleased me so much and moved me to tears: I am so glad that Severus Snape was able to redeem himself in the end. For some weird reason, I’ve always felt an attachment to this “villain” since the first book, and I was extremely disheartened when I learned he killed Albus Dumbledore in book six. But Snape is one really misunderstood character, and his life has many secrets and surprises. I am very satisfied that despite their unfriendly relationship in the past, Harry was able to put a special place for Snape in his life in the future.

I also finished watching the anime SOLA. It’s a poignant tale about Matsuri, Yorito and Aono -- three individuals whose lives have been intertwined since the past. This 13-episode anime contains so many surprises, it will keep you guessing till the end. Plus the art is done so wonderfully, and it has a great OST to boot! I so love all of the character designs, especially of Morimiya Aono. I love the way she handles her “origami sheets” skillfully. *winks* I also love the side story of Takeshi and Mayuko. Their sweet story readily moved me to tears. Actually the entire series moved me to tears, since I pretty much cry so easily, hehehe

Here is a misakichan original fanart in loving appreciation for one very interesting character, done with a badly sharpened Mongol #2 pencil at the back of a prescription sheet XD (Gomen! Those were the only available materials at that time T__T And sorry! I don’t have a scanner so I just took a picture of it XD). I haven't drawn for a long time, but to be honest, I'm quite contented with this. ^_____^

After Sola, I feel that it’s only fitting to be watching these cutesy but dramatic types of anime, so I’m now watching Air, to be followed by Kanon (2006), both done by Key/Visual Arts. It would be nice to put Clannad next in the list, but since that anime’s still ongoing, so I guess I’ll watch Trinity Blood after. (Hehe I know. It's an entirely different genre! XD)

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

CURRENTLY WATCHING:
(anime) Saiunkoku Monogatari (still don’t want to finish this yet), Sola , Air, Kanon, Trinity Blood
(dorama) Spring Waltz , To Marry A Millionaire
